I have worked for over 15 years as a Social Scientist, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, and currently a sitting judicial officer in the Kenyan judiciary. I am specialised on Gender and Conflict Resolution having attained the same at Koffi Annan International Peace Training Institution (KAIPTC) and at the Legon Institute of International Affairs in Accra, Ghana. I have experience in Human Rights, Women’s & Children’s rights, Advocacy, programme development, public interest litigation, training on electoral laws and drafting of legislation and policy documents. I have skills in strategy formulation, planning and management, project cycle management, programme implementation, resource mobilization, project monitoring and evaluation, budgeting, report writing, training and development of rights based training manuals. I have worked with various international human rights instruments namely: Peace Building and Good Governance with a bias on African Personnel, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights (ACHPR), African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC), and the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa.
