Vimbai Nyemba | Zimbabwe
Vimbai Nyemba got registered as a Legal Practitioner in 1992 after graduating with an LLB in Hons Degree and has been practicing law since 1992. In 1997 she founded her legal practice V. Nyemba and Associates Legal Practitioners which firm still exists. In 2009 she was elected into Council of the Law Society of Zimbabwe. 2013 – 2014 she was elected the Vice President of the Law Society of Zimbabwe and in 2015 she was elected President thereof a position she held for two (2) years. She is a councilor of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and the Vice President of SADC Lawyers Association.
Vimbai Nyemba is the current Chairperson of the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) which is a highly esteemed institution and regulator of all government procurements in Zimbabwe. She sits on various boards where she mostly advises on legal issues.
Recently she was appointed a commissioner on the commission of inquiry into the post-election violence that rocked Zimbabwe on 1st August 2018. She describes the commission as the most challenging assignment she has ever carried out.
In her church (Anglican Church) she is the Chancellor of the Diocese of Harare where her duties involve advising the Bishop and sitting in the Bishop’s Court where hearings of misconduct of Clergy are conducted.
Vimbai is married to Engineer W. R. Nyemba and is a mother of two (2) beautiful daughters.
